Welcome to Lemurs! This class is filled with infants who are becoming mobile and are excited to have the freedom to explore the new world around them.

Infants transition into Lemurs at 8 months old, with parental guidance. At this point, Lemurs are beginning to eat table food, sit up on their own, and are on a more regular morning and afternoon nap schedule. Our teachers are especially excited to get on the floor and help your little one get hands on experience trying to figure out their independence.

EATING

Lemurs are primarily fed table food, which occasional bottles to supplement between meals. All food is provided by KCDC, and is cut down for easy consumption, and teachers closely monitor each child during meal times. Bottles can be given between meals to children under 12 months of age. Parents can provide either breastmilk or a can of unopened formula.

DIAPERS

Diapers are changed at least every 2 hours, and more often as needed. Parents are responsible for providing diapers, wipes, diaper cream, and extra clothes. Our diaper changing areas are sanitized after every diaper change, and teachers wash their hands between changing each child.

SLEEPING

Infants only sleep in our safe sleeping places. Lemurs begin a regular sleeping schedule with 2 naps per day, working down to 1 nap after they are 12 months old. Our cribs have tight-fitting sheets, and no blankets or stuffed animals are permitted in the crib at any time. Parents are welcome to provide sleep sacks or swaddles that secure closed, and can bring pacifiers that do not have an attached string or other device.
